OC2 This is a large oval core which shows the typical clearly
defined ridge on one side (above) but on the other side the ridge has
'slipped' to appear on the 'bottom' (see photo left) due to a rotation
during flight. Also peculiar 'scratch marks', across the top may
have been due to rotation in flight or maybe this one was carried and used
by aboriginies? These large tektites were often carried by

indicator with parts of the stress shell still remaining demonstrating how
the core shapes were formed by spallation (flaking) as opposed to the
flanged types where the tektite glass melted and flowed forming flow
ridges and flanges. wt = 9. 3 gms
